Projected Career Counseling of An Artist who is having Second Thoughts

Cindy’s story

Cindy’s major was sculpturing. She has had an interest in art since childhood. Cindy previously wanted to be a sculptor because she enjoys it and is competent as a sculptor. However, Cindy believes that she did not take into account that she may not be able to find a secure job as an art major.

Recently Cindy has realized that she has many interests in addition to art. Cindy really enjoys helping people. She likes being around people, but as a sculptor she would not be able to work with people as much as she would like.

Cindy has been self-employed in the past. She sold artwork online, although her creative pet rocks were in a higher demand than the items that Cindy preferred to make. Cindy asked herself, What is the point in being an artist when I would not be able to market the art that I enjoy making?
